Day 6: Tuesday in Munich/Germering

June 11

Still jet-lagged and everyone was having trouble getting up and motivated to get going but then Mja brought in fresh pretzels and bread from the bakery and with butter and Nutella and jam and some good coffee we were all up and ready to go.  Danielle went to work, Killian, Jeanne and Danny went to school.  Johannes stayed home so he could assist with the cultural exchange of the Spillane family.. So first we did a fast jog, walk with Maja -- she has lots of energy.

Then we we went to Munchen (Munich) and went to the museum of art to see new building of the Blueh Reiter (blue rider group)-- Kandinsky, Macke, Martz, Joseph Bouey and others.  We had a coffee break at the Lenbachaus in pouring rain that stooped in time for our tour of the city.  We learned about German (Bavarian) beer.  Augustiner was the favorite of our guide ("like medicine she says").  (other munich made beers:  Spaten, Haufbrau, Pauliner, Lowenbrau, Hacker Pschorr)

We met Danielle and ate at the Haufbrau house and ate pork and kraut and dumplings.  Home on the train.  The beer tasting back at home -- tried some Krombacher Pils. - ts
